When you Google mixtape covers or download your favorite mixtape's artwork, did you notice that all the cover images are too small to print?
That is because while the graphics online are sized at 500 x 500 pixels for viewing purposes, the cover artwork needed for mixtape printing is much larger. This always seems to be a controversial subject lol. Some people say 4.75 inches, some people say 5 inches, they are both kind of right.
The correct answer is 1500 x 1500 pixels at 300dpi. This size WILL be slightly larger than the finished mixtape artwork, but you must include room for the printing bleed and cut lines. If you don't, you may end up with white edges around your mixtape cover or even worse, be missing some of the text that was included in the graphic design. This would make all your time and hard work to make a mixtape cover come out looking like shit. Don't let that happen to you.
